knot and knit

My latest obsession = finger knitting.
Just in time to make summery bracelets.

Bumped a couple of weeks ago in a store into a Zpagetti ball.
And one thing leading to another I ended up at Vanessa's tutorial for finger jersey knitted bracelets. Watch her video at the bottom.
Reg found this tutorial on finger knitting and being the slow learner that I am, I had to get helped by this one in French.
The technique/result varies slightly provided you loop back above all your fingers or swirve back between fingers.

(four finger version)

Still have to try :

- head pieces with longer ties.
- mixing differents fabrics.
- not ending up not chocking my fingers with far too tight a noose :-)
- trying it with tricotin knitted wool/threads
- cutting fabric from an old t-shirt

pioupiou

Bon, here they are, les voila!
(.

How said spooky? I say classy first.

Whaou, am back after few days in the sun and can't realize Halloween is again around the corner.
So I browsed the (real) web this morning to find few ideas in order to catch up with the 'giantandneedlesstosaidtoooftentacky plastic spider webs around your house' fever.
Here are few ideas I have found thanks to the always original How about Orange (referring herself to Parents.com) :

and delicate pumkins sculpted with simply wood carving tools from Martha :

And because here at onyourbikesunshine, we think a little jewel is always welcome...
(Stellae Necklace from Anthro)

(Ruffled Feathers necklace, also from Anthro)

A sutble pumpkin ring (still available!!!) from Pink Saguaro on Etsy

and last but not least...
from my ultra fave Extazia

If these do not get you in the mood, I'll be happy to send you the 2 tons of real half chewed acorns that squirrels keep throwing on our deck daily....

Persistence of vision

Few weeks ago, I found myself in total awe with the colour palette for a Chloé clutch similar to this, minus the purple flap.
You know when colours stay in my mind floating around, bugging you.
I mean look at the combination of unbleached linen, bright pink, almost fuschia, lilac and acid yellow. make you wanna spend the rest of your life in summer clothes....hey, don't we have one day left before fall?....
And the contrast between the raw-natural fabric and the modern sequins.
By the way, if anybody knows of a good place to by nice trimmings
(I mean beyond the electric blue, Xmas red or nice but expected black sequins, but more subtle colours) we're looking forward to receiving any suggestions.

Anyway, later that day I bought this JCrew t-shirt...without purposely looking for the clutch colours...
and of course, few days later somebody had to linger in the FIMO aisle...
Now that lilac stubbornly refused to be photographed and kept turning either too blue or too pink (same story with the T-shirt).
So picture something exactly like the paint swatch/on the picture of the FIMO before varnish. svp :-)
